I hate Guinevere so so much but the story and writing is still great.

I loved this whole series. Gwenhwyfar is my least favorite so this wasn't my favorite volume but it had enough of Morgaine in it and the story is so beautifully written I loved it still

One of my all time favorites. Read it about a dozen or more times.

My progress on the whole series is my hatred for Gwenhwyfar is confirmed. Morgaine becomes a character that I sympathize with. There's still way too much internal dialogue for the book to be interesting. Or to make sense. The story being told by Morgaine, I don't understand how she knows what everyone else is thinking.Slogging through this book because I want to understand why fantasy enthusiasts like this series.



Oh Gwenhwyfar, I am so tired of your complaining that you haven't slept with Lancelet, you have to be married to Arthur and he isn't a Christian, that he believes in keeping his word as he promised the Lady of Avalon and fly the banner of the dragon. The most positive thing I can say about this book on CD is that the reader, Davina Porter, is most excellent. Otherwise, I'm not sure I want to continue.
