Narration Toward Books Password to Larkspur Lane (Nancy Drew Mystery Stories #10)

Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys stories derive from ghostwriters assigned by The Stratemeyer Syndicate. Read Melanie Rehak’s highly-informative treatise! Walter Karig handled three, when a deal was not struck with Mildred A. Wirt. Notice that the style of his titles are different. We reunite with Mildred after this, “The Password To Larkspur Lane”. Volume #8 was awful. Walter’s next was better, except portraying that Bess & George turned against Nancy. Here in volume #10, he forgot Helen was married but I was glad to have my favourite co-sleuth back. Walter aimed for the fences: I give it four stars! The subject is sensitive and not farfetched, making it a worthwhile cautionary tale.

We suspend disbelief through quite a few coincidences that alert Nancy to suspicious doings; however we are glad she honed-in on them. Along with casting attention on an important subject, which is quantified as elder abuse; story-wise, I love that the mystery is solved by collaborative information-gathering and surveillance work. It is not like many of these novels, in which criminals are overheard or observed at the perfect time. There was planning, grunt work, and danger. Nancy & Helen lied their way into a place, the former dug herself out of a hole very literally, and even made an explosion! Animal care is covered too, with homing pigeons making an important part of this mystery ensemble cast.

Nancy observed a doctor she knew, distressed. He revealed that he treated an elderly woman under covert circumstances. He was not allowed to see where he was and snatched an item to identify her. Meanwhile, Nancy intercepted a tired homing pigeon with a peculiar message. If she could follow him, she had a feeling the mysteries would intertwine. This adventure rocked! Please warn the elderly against buying into false retirement facilities.

Judgment Appertaining To Books Password to Larkspur Lane (Nancy Drew Mystery Stories #10)
Zanier than most! Here's my favorite line: "I'll wire the International Federation of American Homing Pigeon Fanciers and give them the number stamped on the bird's leg ring." Who knew?!!

The cover photo most resembles the edition we read, but mine was published in 1933, so may be less politically correct than later versions. Fortunately there are no "colored" servants shuffling or speaking in dialect in this story and no one with sinister foreign accents. The mystery itself is okay, though it drags a bit. Nancy tracks down a fake hospital where a band of crooks hold old ladies against their will and force them to sign over their fortunes. They seem to do this by drugging and

3.5 StarsAnother delightful Nancy Drew novel. In this one Nancy finds a Carrier Pigeon that leads her into two different mysteries. As the story begins to unfold, the mystery and clues fall into Nancys lap. She often seems to be in the right place and at the right time. It also helps that she has the direct number to the International Federation of Carrier Pigeon Fanciers! This was a fun story and you do know who is the bad guy quiet early in the novel so its more of finding out where the evil

3.5 stars Not the best of Nancy, but still suspenseful at parts!Popsugar Challenge 2020 - A book with more than 20 letters in its title

This one was interesting - I felt that Nancy was insanely proactive and the police / friends were involved very little. The story is fairly simple - she finds an injured passenger pigeon and reads the message it was a code and she knew it. She was then invited to her friend Helen's family home where strange occurrences were going on. She sorts out that the two mysteries are connected and bam right into the action. This installment is fast paced and action packed. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I read

This book is a thriller! I couldn't put the book down. The cliff-hangers left me in such suspense I just had to keep reading. Nancy is so determined to help others and is always willing to put them before herself. I would definitely recommend this book to someone that loves mystery and adventure.
