Crit Out Of Books Tallgrass

I really enjoyed this book. There's some historical senario in the background of this book about a Japanese Internment Camp, I found this interesting. The book is about a murder that takes place with some additional surprises. I love the main character who is a young teen growing up during WWII.

One of my favorite Sandra Dallas books - atmospheric, historically relevant, tender yet strong, and not too terribly cliche or melodramatic. A soft read, compared to other WWII books dealing with Japanese internment camps, but a memorable one.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first chapter of Tallgrass. I thought I was getting To Kill A Mockingbird but with innocent Japanese detainees in camps during World War II instead of an innocent black man detained for rape in the south.
