This is the second book in the Daughters of the Moon series, and Serena is the narrator of this book. Her talent is the ability to read minds, where her best friend Jimena gets premonitions of the future. Their mentor Maggie has helped them hone, or understand their skills. Serena is a bit of a rebel, and doesn't always follow the rules, and she is in danger as Stanton, the sexy leader of Atrox's Followers, is after her to subvert her powers towards evil to bring the Daughters of Moon down.

I think this book could have worked well as an series aimed at older readers, and that there wasn't that silly age limit. The age limit always bothered me because at 17 many teenagers are still unsure of what they want in life and so forth. To me it just felt like a cheesy plot device, but the story itself did interest me, it could just have been more developed.

Absolutely average. I still enjoy this series for nostalgia and eventually finishing the final book, but objectively this series is only a half-step higher than Twilight. I dont think Id have my kids read it, mostly for the obsession with guys constantly. Everything else thats cheesy Im fine with. I do like the sisterhood aspect.

Probably more like a 3.5 rating.Going to keep this review kind of short and sweet.... which is actually a good comparison to the book. Very much like the first book, this is a typical middle grade book, where it is highly repetitive. If you ever forget who has what power, or who the main characters are and how they met, just keep reading, it will remind you.... I actually liked this book better than the first one. 3.5* I enjoyed the first book a lot more than this one, but this one was still good. I just didnt like how the author had Jimenas dialogue. I dont know any Spanish speaking person that when they speak English they constantly throw in Spanish words. Like why? 😂
