New York Times bestselling author Jude Deveraux will capture your heart with signature classic novel, a time-travel romance featuring a present-day heroine and a dashing hero from the sixteenth century!

Abandoned by a cruel fate, lovely Dougless Montgomery lies weeping upon a cold tombstone in an English church. Suddenly, the most extraordinary man appears. It is Nicholas Stafford, Earl of Thornwyck…and according to his tombstone he died in 1564.

Drawn to his side by a bond so sudden and compelling it overshadows reason, Dougless knows that Nicholas is nothing less than a miracle: a man who does not seek to change her, who finds her perfect, fascinating, just as she is. What Dougless never imagined was how strong the chains are that tie them to the past…or the grand adventure that lay before them.

Hailed worldwide as one of the most romantic novels of all time, A Knight in Shining Armor is “a glorious love story that spans centuries, worlds, and souls. It is the epitome of every woman’s fantasy” (Chicago Daily Herald).

Write-Up Out Of Books A Knight in Shining Armor (Montgomery/Taggert (Publication order) #13)
very well done.time travel + historical romance. loved that ending <3

Ive been told by just about every reader whos read this romance classic that its a sad story and a very upsetting one at that because of the ending, well I have to strongly disagree. Its exceptionally moving and my hats off to the author for thinking out of the romance box for once. That said, I love a good heart-wrenching cry and a tragic story and Im not saying this one is or isnt because I really think it depends on what you expect out of a romance novel. If youre on the side that says

This was recommended by a fellow reader in one of the Goodreads groups I am in. While I can clearly see why the book appeals to so many readers, it left me completely numb. The best part of the book (for me) was the author's note. I'm not really sure why Jude Devereaux decided that she needed to "add 50 pages" to this updated version because the plot dragged for me.

As with most things spawned in the 80s, this book/story did not age well. Secondly, Dougless, our heroine, was a waste of space.

This is one of my all time favorites, no matter what genre of romance. It has elements of historical, contemporary, time travel. And the love story is romantic and heart breaking. If you've never read it do so, if you read it years ago read it again. A true classic.

i've seen kate & leopold, don't really need it set in the 80s with a cry baby doormat heroinednf @ 15%

The first thing you need to know about this time travel romance is that the majority of it takes place in 1988. I didn't know that when I bought it. But the 5 star ratings convinced me to buy it. After reading the first 25 pages, I was back on Amazon looking at the reviews to see if I'd missed something. I did. The low ratings tell a different story: an annoying heroine, contrived plot developments, no happy ending, etc. How, I asked myself, could all those 5 star raters be so wrong? So, I
