This was a wondrous conclusion to an amazing series! Jaraxle and Entreri are a true delight as ever. The writing style was of Salvatore's best, very witty in Jaraxle's plot, dialogue and philosophy, and as serious as ever with Entreri. The way Entreri's own quest for personal identity cam to a conclusion was really inspiring, the once evil and conflicted rival of Drizzt Do'Urden finding peace and becoming a fighter of the people, (and not enjoying it) was wonderful. I really like that this trilogy delved deeper into Jarlaxle an Artemis Entreri. These were two interesting character and I feel like they got a lot of development and depth. Artemis does so in this book especially. We get to see a lot of his origin story, while he gets to be his usual deadly self.

Another good book in the series. The characters progress and expand, while there are some powerful scenes and good intrigue in the book.Oh and Drizzt essays are back :) Not to mention that the interactions between Entreri and king Gareth are 5 star material ... as usual Salvatore seems to be very keen on making his readers think and ponder about some very interesting and serious issues. All in all, a very good book, indeed.

Argh. The weakest in the trilogy. There are some really good scenes throughout the book, but there is too much happening at once... and in the same time, nothing happens. There's a lot of new characters and subplots, but story simply goes nowhere (and as a result, there is no focus and the book becomes very hard to read). Really awesome, It was interesting to learn of Entreri past and learn why he is the way he is. though I wish I had learned more about Jarlaxle. Perhaps Salvatore will write his story later. Either way, this book was kind of weird and confusing but overall enjoyable, and I think the Sellswords trilogy is worth the read.

This story is about redemption. The redemption of Artemis Entreri and to a lesser extent Jarlaxle. Even Athrogate, the Dwarf has a back story that is to be told. In previous books it is Drizzt who tries to break through Entreri's hardened exterior, but is doomed to fail. Perhaps because Drizzt is his nemesis. In the end it is Jarlaxle, his self proclaimed muse, who manages to set Entreri on the path to redemption. To purge his ghosts.
