Redemption (The Captive #5)
Growing up in the small town of Chippman, Hannah had long ago accepted the fact that she would never leave it. When Jack walks into her life, and turns it upside down, she quickly realizes that not everything is what she’d believed it to be. Knowing that Jack will reject her if he learns the truth about her, Hannah struggles to fight her growing attraction to him. For though the town of Chippman seems normal on the outside, its residents harbor secrets that they’ve taken great pains to keep hidden. Secrets that have forced the town to live under the rule of the one man that could tear Jack and Hannah apart forever.

Im finally finishing up one of my favorite vampire series and although I LOVED books 1-4 this one fell flat for me. I enjoyed seeing everyone from past books again and meeting new characters. But I found myself skimming a lot which is never a good sign. I still love this series though and plan on continuing with the next book which Im very excited about because William has always been one of the best characters. 3.5 Stars!
Jacks back, baby! Thats right! After four books of being truly awesome supporting his big brother, Braith, Jack is back as the hero of his very own book, and its fantastic!I love The Captive series! (The first book - Captured - is free on Amazon... GET IT NOW!). It completely took me by surprise when I discovered it last year, and I devoured the books back to back in an absolute whirlwind. I took the opportunity to do a reread of the whole series before I started this, which I recommend if you
Ms. Stevens has written another great one! The Captive series is one of my favorites, even though it isn't something you'd find in my usual genres. Although I knew that I would read this book just because I love the series so much, I didn't expect that it would appeal to me as much, since the story wasn't centered around Braith and Aria. Honestly, I had prepared myself to be disappointed and possibly part ways with the series. I just couldn't fathom that anything could compare to the intense and
For me, this series has been an average read until I read Redemption. I'm not a huge fan of Aria and Braith. Their story was good but at times felt over dramatic and repetitive. What made me still kept on going was the awesome cast of side characters this series has. I've been more interested in William, Daniel, David, Jack and Gideon. I was over joyed when I found that this one was about my favorite rebel vampire, Jack and I enjoyed this more than the previous books. And I liked Hannah. She was
I would actually give this final book in a series of 5, 3 1/2 stars, if I could. Organizationally, this book was better put together than the last one, which was really the grand finale of Braith's and Aria's story. This one focuses on Braith's brother, Jack, and his romantic interest. It is also a fairly decent follow-up of what happens to the characters after the war is won. I like that the author thought of an outpost where "Undesirables" (vampires with flaws) lived. I can see the author's
Simply amazing!I had read the first four books in the series and loved them. When I saw this book not being about Aria and Braith I didn't really want to read it, because I had grown to love their stories. I'm glad I finally got to read Jack's story! The details that were given made me feel apart of the story, like I was actually there! I could not put the book down. When Aria screamed when William died, I felt the pain and the sorrow she felt. The writing brought everything to life and I felt

I absolutely loved the Captive Series by Erica Stevens and I was so excited to hear Jack was getting his own story. It may have taken awhile but the wait was worth it!Jack needed some happiness after his conflicts with the war and his family drama. Although content with how things turned out, he was still grieving for all that was lost to get to that point. I wanted to reach in and comfort him on a couple of occasions...in more ways than one. *wink*I loved not only Jack's POV in the story, butIm finally finishing up one of my favorite vampire series and although I LOVED books 1-4 this one fell flat for me.
