Commentary Concering Books GoGo Monster

A poetic tale of a young boy’s overactive imagination. R to L (Japanese Style). GoGo Monster is a nuanced tale of a young boy and his overly active imagination. Nine-year-old Yuki Tachibana lives in two worlds. In one world, he is a loner ridiculed by his classmated and reprimanded by his teachers for telling stories of supernatural beings that only he can see. In the other worlds, the super natural beings vie for power with malevolent spirits who bring chaos into the school, the students lives and nature itself.

Discuss Epithetical Books GoGo Monster
As I love a good graphic novel I decided to go and look for a Japanese manga, with the same criterion, it had to be good in multiple ways. I enjoyed my search very much and in the beginning it was hard to find a manga in a style I would appreciate (and even better I finally came to love). Everyone knows the cliches, the big eyes, blue hair, the overload of action and when it only becomes a slightly bit more in the direction of an adult book it shows awkward pictures of schoolgirls in too short

Matsumoto has created an eerie, bizarre story in GoGo Monster. The first thing I noticed about this one was the unusual design of the book itself. Its a sturdy hardcover with red page edges. The comic starts right on the front endpaper, with the title cover being relegated to the cardboard slipcase, rather then the book. Its a gorgeous printing, but bizarrely the slip case is made from cheap cardboard. My copy from amazon even has to be re-glued as its coming apart at the bottom. The rest of the

I love manga like GoGo Monster, they will leave you unable to understand what just happened, but still amazed by it. The young Yuki sees the other side, and we never find out whether the other side is real or not, but it constantly disturbs him. His two friends IQ (can also see the other side) and Makoto (can't see the other side) try their best to help him and stay by his side. The art is also absolutely brilliant. The realism and surrealism blended together fits the plot perfectly, and I love

Like all of us, I am unfortunately bound by certain culturally endowed predispositions that prompt immediate, involuntary reactions to certain encounters. When I see a picture of someone with neurofibromatosis, my initial reaction, sadly enough, is not compassion but revulsion. Compassion may speedily follow, but that was a learned response and not natural to what my society has built into me. When I hear hip hop, my instinct is to brush it off as if it couldn't possibly concern mecausing me to

As usual, Matsumoto's magical, sometimes tender child characters have jagged edges, with some using immature brutality to hurry their growth into adults and others fearfully fighting adulthood with their mature innocence. The illustrations are simultaneously beautiful and horrific in their perfect caricatures of every type of person and fiercely imagined creature. A story that merges reality with dreamworld, mental illness and isolation with social independence, GoGo Monster is a must read for

Did you get in trouble? asked Makoto, standing across from the teachers lounge.I like the office in the summertime/wintertime. Yuki, who had just got scolded by their teacher, smiled. Its air-conditioned/heated.Dawww. Isnt it just too adorable?I thought Id give GoGo Monster 4 stars after the first read, but I had an inkling Id need a second, or even a third, read. A week later, I read it the second time, and it still lingers in my mind, meaning it gotta be on my favorite shelf.GoGo Monster was

A masterful coming-of-age story that effortlessly marries form and substance. Highly recommended to fans of early Goodnight Punpun or Essex County (specifically Tales from the Farm).
