Description During Books The Whisperer (Mila Vasquez #1)

A gripping literary thriller and smash bestseller that has taken Italy, France, Germany and the UK by storm.

Six severed arms are discovered, arranged in a mysterious circle and buried in a clearing in the woods. Five of them appear to belong to missing girls between the ages of eight and eighteen. The sixth is yet to be identified. Worse still, the girls' bodies, alive or dead, are nowhere to be found.

Lead investigators Mila Vasquez, a celebrated profiler, and Goran Gavila, an eerily prescient criminologist, dive into the case. They're confident they've got the right suspect in their sights until they discover no link between him and any of the kidnappings except the first. The evidence in the case of the second missing child points in a vastly different direction, creating more questions than it answers.

Vasquez and Gavila begin to wonder if they've been brought in to take the fall in a near-hopeless case. Is it all coincidence? Or is a copycat criminal at work? Obsessed with a case that becomes more tangled and intense as they unravel the layers of evil, Gavila and Vasquez find that their lives are increasingly in each other's hands.

THE WHISPERER, as sensational a bestseller in Europe as the Stieg Larsson novels, is that rare creation: a thought-provoking, intelligent thriller that is also utterly unputdownable.

Evaluate Based On Books The Whisperer (Mila Vasquez #1)
Loved this book - read it in one day. I'm home with a cold - so spent the day reading :)It is a mystery thriller translated from ItalianOfficer Mila Vasquez specializes in finding missing children. Having a sixth sense about the men and women who abduct children, she successfully rescues hundreds of children, yet shies away from the limelight. While harboring a secret of her own, she is called in to help Dr. Gavila and his team solve a case of a missing girl. The case in this novel begins with a

A crime novel by Carrisi who studied law and criminology is sure to be filled with actual nuances and facts about the truth of crimes and I wasnt disappointed on that count. It was great to read when you know that methodologies and stories are congruent. The writer hooks you on the story and keeps you at the edge of your seat throughout the book with the many twists and turns that are oftentimes unexpected.Instead of being plainly a crime novel, Carrisi is also at times poetic, adding colours to

It is incredibly rare for me to find a book of this size and read it in one day. But I felt as though I was coming so close to the heart of the mystery that I couldn't put it down. Turns out, I was wrong all along. I am very rarely, and I mean RARELY, surprised by an ending, but I didn't see it coming. I have a difficult time disseminating whether it's due to superior writing or naivety on my part. I did have a few issues with this book, but for the most part they resolved themselves at the end.

Creepy, dark, at times I felt the evil literally waft off the pages. Different characters, major twists, I honestly never saw them coming. Don't know where this novel takes place, but it doesn't seem to matter as if the author is telling the reader that the place doesn't really matter and that this type of evil exists everywhere and anywhere. Hopefully there will be a sequel.

This is the book that totally freaked me out. I was reading at 2.00 AM and went to check if my front door was locked.Six arms. Buried in the meadow. The arms belong to six little girls. Are the girls dead or alive? Where are the missing girls? The criminologist Goran Gavila works on the case. Another member of the team is Mila Vasquez . Both, usually work alone. But now, they have to work as a team.Goran Gavila has skeletons in the closet. He is a single parent to a boy since his wife left. He

Like the whole range of other human emotions, it's just a matter of chemistry. We are all nothing but machines made of flesh. It is true to most book lovers out there that books which belong to the Thriller, Mystery and Crime genres are generally easy to predict and the reader can discover some of the "clues" that the author has left for him/her, if he/she is careful enough. But "The Whisperer" by Donato Carrisi wasn't one of these books. Fast-paced, unpredictable, thought-provoking and utterly

Original review posted at Layers of Thought.A translated Italian crime fiction novel, thats another thrilling read for the fans of this popular and emerging genre. A very dark psychological read, with a paranormal element, which is not for the faint of heart, or stomach.About: Six childrens arms are found in a desolate wooded area and the police are distraught, wondering where are the rest of the girls bodies? Half assuming they are all dead, it turns out that one may still be alive. The local
