I wrote in my review for "Falling Away" that more and more, authors are using cliffhangers, serials, and series to pull their readers in. This may or may not be motivated by money, but to me, the writing strategy should always match the content. I'm twenty, and all I know about myself is that I love Tatum Brandt. Two years ago, I thought that was enough. One thing that Penelope Douglas did right, right off the bat with this book was she gave us Jared's POV during that pivotal scene at the end of Falling Away. It set the tone for the whole book. Aflame is about Tate and Jared coming full circle. It's also about growing up, finding out who you are. It's about finding your place in the world. It's about letting go. It's no secret that a



4.5 ★'s I just love Jared and Tate together...and apart but they are so much better together. When I read about there being trouble between the two of them, I have to admit I was shocked but I was also intrigued. The "junkie" in me, of course, wanted more! More angst and more drama...OMG, it was sooo good! PD just wrote everything right! Does that mean I liked everything? Of course not but I think it's something that both Jared and Tate had to go through now to make things better in the future.
