Relation As Books Captured
Love is never easy. It's especially difficult when you love a Marine. I knew the risk when I said "I do", but I chose to love anyway.In a flash, he was taken from me, and now I'm alone. Struggling and desperate. There's no hope, no future. Just the endless cycle of day-to-day survival. But a letter returned could change all of that.
Hope and love often come from the last place you'd think to look, when you least expect it.
* * *
I was a lost, broken soul, tortured by the memories of what I'd endured. When I visited that old farmhouse in rural Texas, all I wanted to do was return the letter. Keep a promise to a friend.
What I got was healing. Understanding. The chance to find a measure of peace when all I've ever known is war.
We both lost everything. But in each other, we found something worth fighting for.

5 StarsThis story absolutely broke my heart, I started crying almost immediately and it continued on sporadically throughout the book. The story begins with a woman writing a letter to her husband. In the letter she expresses how much she loves him and just wants him to return to her. It isnt a spoiler to say that he doesnt. Going in I knew this was the case. I read the blurb and it flat out says that, however, I still was crushed. The way this story is written I could feel the emotions of theA heartwrenchingly beautiful story of second chances - two shattered people who lost so much, finding something incredibly together.You captured me, and my life changed again. For better this time.Raegan is married to a career Marine. They have spent more time apart than together in their eight years of marriage, but Thomas is her best friend and the love of her life. His death in Afghanistan shatters her. Derek is a Marine serving in Afghanistan. His unit is wiped out in an ambush and he is
MICHELLE'S REVIEW I know I say this a lot but I LOVED THIS BOOK!! Seriously, I really did By now you probably know that I am a big fan of the Wilder's. I've loved many of Jasinda's books and loved Jack's book, The Missionary. I admit I haven't read all of their books ( I think they have 47 published!) but I've read a lot. And I love their writing. But I am also not the type of person- no matter how much I love an author- to say I loved a book when I didn't. So when I say that I LOVED this book,

*3.75* So, I don't know how I feel about this book. I liked the story, it just didn't move me the way I thought it should have. I think I was expecting one thing and the twist which happened early had me recalibrating what I thought the story was going to be about. Also, the most emotional part of this book for me wasn't between the two main characters and happened early in the book. The writing was a mixed bag for me as well. There were some parts that were brilliantly written and some parts
5 'grab your tissues' stars!(My review will NOT contain spoilers)Wow. That sums up Captured for me. Wow. Just when you think Jasinda and Jack's story telling ability couldn't get any better they go and write Captured. Wounded was my favorite book by Jasinda, I don't know that I could say either one was better, I love them both equally. I want to take a second and share the blurb. You go into combat, you fear death. It's what keeps you careful, keeps you alive. I've faced death more times than
Captured is another beautiful story by Jasinda Wilder. I have truly enjoyed every one of her books and this one didn't disappoint! Be forewarned that the subject matter is dark. I found the writing to be very realistic. POW and PTSD are not easy demons to take on. "I repeat the words of the letter over and over again, every day. Its a reminder that theres somewhere other than here, something out there other than Taliban and dirt and the distant mountain peaks. Its a reminder of my
This was such a good read, and I found it hard to put down!This book tells the story of Reagan, who is married to US Marine, Tom. When he's leaving on a tour of Afghanistan, she gives him a letter, which he chooses not to open straight away. Tom and his friend and comrade, Derek, are captured by the Taliban. Tom doesn't make it, but after three years in captivity, Derek is rescued, and makes it his life's mission to get a dying message from Tom to Reagan. The military details were so
