Chronicle In Pursuance Of Books Malgudi Schooldays: The Adventures Of Swami And His Friends

This book had been in my to-read list for a long, long time and finally, after many years, I got the opportunity to read it and without doubt, it has lived up to its potential! There can never be a book like this one, with simplicity and nostalgia wrapped in every sentence and every incident relating to the innermost core of the heart.

But just reading this book is not sufficient. The television series is a perfect companion after reading R.K Narayan’s books and deserves an award of its own!

Critique Based On Books Malgudi Schooldays: The Adventures Of Swami And His Friends
Awesome book. Toatlly loved it!

Malgudi Schooldays as an abridged version of Swami and Friends was a delight to read. Made me remember my childhood days when I used to be an ardent follower of Malgudi Days on TV.Everyone knows that it is a wonderful piece and hence I dont really have much to say here :)

A wonderful book for all ages. The writing style was great, the formatting and illustrations are also commendable. I will definitely recommend people to read this book .It is a great read..

One of the finest books I have read. The book brought back fond memories of my childhood. My favorite chapter is where Swami is made to solve arithmetic sums by his father. The innocence of Swami brings a beautiful charm to this simple tale.

A super slow but fun classic to read.

Two things. Either I should've read Swami and Friends instead of this slightly abridged version.Or, I'm reading this ten years too late.Slow, unrewarding book.

I read this for Calvin's sake, but neither of us enjoyed the experience much. No, no, nothing against the awesome writer or the book. Just that there was little I could do to get this modern, little 7 year old to visualize the life of little Swaminathan and his friends, almost a century back! I myself don't get it that easy. So!But we did, together, get through the entire book! And so, v r 1 more classic down! :)
